I am a bit stuck on this topic but will continue anyway. I’m amused that the liberals are now condemning someone for what they are saying is “identfying.” Katie Zacharis holds the degree of Juris Doctor but is identifying as a lawyer! They are outraged!

These are the same folks claiming no one is illegal, even when they break the law. The same group that says you can identify as a man, woman, non-binary or other and that must be recognized. They are outraged when you refute that.

Katie earned that degree from Pepperdine University. It’s fully documented, it’s 100% legit. She has every right to use that title. But now the liberals are saying, if you don’t meet with our expectations, our definition, or identity you are invalidated! You have the degree, the document to prove that title but that isn’t enough!

I can’t use that argument when discussing all those “trans” people . No, the science, the documentation doesn’t apply there at all. They can just identify themselves in any fashion whatsoever. What they “feel” like is all that counts. Katie feels like a lawyer, I suspect, because she graduated from law school.

I’m amused by this premise; you are not “valid” unless you are licensed. You can’t be a lawyer, a doctor, a plumber, a mechanic, a builder or a host of other trades/occupations without having a license. It’s the license that validates your education or skill.

The American Bar association was formed in 1878 by, you guessed it, lawyers. Its stated purpose was to set academic standards and ethical codes. It was and remains completely voluntary. But over time it developed into something quite different. “A cartel, in economic terms, is a group of independent actors who collude to control supply, fix prices, and exclude competitors. The attorney licensing system checks every box.”

This is what the liberals are in full support of. They are making the claim that unless you are licensed, under their rules and conditions, you are not a lawyer at all! You cannot practice law without joining the cartel! Yeah, I’m amused. But it is for the good of the people, a protection.

You can represent yourself in a court of law. You can “practice” law in that setting without having to be a member of the bar association in any jurisdiction whatsoever. It’s not recommended however, wonder what that would be? A paid “professional” will be assigned to you. Yes, they get the job automatically! Very convenient.

I’m not disparaging the profession. My grandson just passed the bar exam and will soon be a practicing attorney. He became a lawyer the day he was awarded his diploma! It says it right on the document, Juris Doctor. Doctor of Law! Now he is applying for his license.

You do know that just because you pass the bar that isn’t a guarantee you will be accepted to the bar. You have to meet their standards for ethical conduct, moral standards and education. It’s pretty exclusive. So exclusive that the liberals are offended if you identify yourself in that way, without their permission!

Harvard Law School diploma awarding Sarah Elizabeth Chen the degree of Juris Doctor on May 16, 2016; signed by Drew Gilpin Faust and Martha Minow.
Wonder if Sarah passed the bar. No matter, she holds that degree regardless.
