Immigration tops the news feeds these days. It’s all about ICE and the enforcement of existing laws in regard to immigration. It’s a morality argument. Legality and morality are distinctly different. The very first amendment to the constitution makes that clear.

When we declared our independence the very first thing was the presentation of the justification for doing so. We declared we were acting in accordance with the laws of nature and of natures’ God. What we were doing was a moral action!

After having won our independence, and having written the constitution, the nation was established. It took eight years and a lot of compromises to get that done. Following that, within a year, amendments to that constitution were being demanded by the general public. The public had become concerned with what the constitution didn’t say! Individual rights were not spelled out. The general public wanted to know, what’s in this for me.

The first amendment plainly stated there shall be no law establishing a religion or preventing anyone from practicing their religious belief. Moral law shall be completely separate from civil law. That is what that means. The government cannot cite any religious texts, teachings or rituals in the establishment of civil law.

So, what we have is a nation that declared their independence based on moral issues, 27 grievances spelled out, now saying you can’t govern people using moral codes. That is politics! Politicians establish the laws of the land. We call them representatives here in America. We vote for them. Congress establishes the law!

All law is based on moral judgement. That is what makes man different from all the other animals and mammals on the planet. The laws of nature and natures’ God. All the other animals on the planet act within the laws of nature. Man acts within natures’ God.

Laws are moral when we agree with them, immoral when we don’t. That should be immediately obvious to anyone paying attention to this immigration issue. It would be wrong, immoral, to just walk into your home and declare I now live there! It even sounds ridiculous.

Yet, there are hundreds, if not thousands today saying it’s immoral to deport those entering the nation illegally. Those folks even declaring that no one is illegal! Well, until those folks enter my home that is, that’s different.

We hear a great deal about those Muslim nations. What is the problem with them? The big issue is they have established a religion as a form of government. Yes, religious ideology forms the basis for their laws. There is no compromise, no amendments to that. It’s what the text says!

What does our constitution say? “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.” The legislation of moral judgement shall be by that body! The first amendment ensures that!
