Today we are talking about Dr. Anthony Fauci. He was the Dr. “in charge” of the big covid pandemic. (2019-2023) That is a piece of history that will go unmentioned in the future, just a footnote. It will become like the “spanish flu.” (1918-1920)

Dr. Fauci was the head scientist issuing all the recommendations and treatments to combat this covid -19 and its multiple variants. He insisted the flu vaccine his agency had developed was the only effective cure. Just where this flu originated is at the center of the controversary. Many believe it was created in a lab in Wuhan, China.

Dr. Fauci was deeply involved with this lab doing what they called, gain of function research. For us laypeople that means altering the genetic properties and/or biological functions. It’s risky business. I believe that gain of function research did create what we now call covid-19. It was leaked from that lab.

In testimony before congress Dr. Fauci denied having funded any of that activity in Wuhan China. That was shown to be a lie, that in fact, the NIH, of which Dr. Fauci was the director, did indeed fund that research. His hope was to distance himself from that foul up! I can’t say as I blame him for that. It was a pretty bad mistake.

Now, fast forward through all the masking requirements, the shutting down of businesses, the ostracization of those not wishing to get the vaccine, to “get the jab” as it was called. The anti-vaxers as we were called faced a great deal of discrimination. All of which was orchestrated by Anthony Fauci.

Dr. Fauci did not develop the vaccine. In fact, in reading about that it is quite difficult to get any answers. You will find many references to the funding of this research to create an effective vaccine and that is where the big rub comes in.

Did Dr. Fauci suppress every other treatment, those using already available medicines, to enrich himself and increase his fame? Why did he lie to Congress about the gain of function research and his involvement with that? Did he know that that lab had created a “Frankenstein” and wanted to distance himself from that?

All of that and more has been discussed, researched and speculated about for years now. President Biden, when leaving office, issued Dr. Fauci a blanket pardon. Why would a pardon be necessary? Today Dr. Fauci sits before a Congressional committee and pleads the fifth, over one hundred times! He has a team of six lawyers urging him to do so. Why?

It’s my feeling that Fauci will be forgotten about except in academic circles. He has had quite a long and distinguished career. I’m not taking anything away from his academic qualifications. I do think he was deeply involved with that gain of function research, took a huge gamble and lost.

This occurred toward the end of his career. Was he trying for the one big thing that would cement his legacy? Did he overstep his boundaries? Like other scientists before him I believe he set aside moral and ethical concerns in the quest for that one thing. It went terribly wrong!

They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This proverb has appeared since Biblical times, just with different wording. The meaning has remained the same. Intentions alone are not sufficient! Good intentions also do not negate bad consequences.

It’s my feeling once Fauci took the first shovel out, he has done nothing but continue to dig himself a deeper hole. Refusing to testify, pleading the fifth amendment, is only making that hole deeper. Just what where his intentions? The big question is, does that matter? Or are we simply seeking retribution, reparations and someone to blame.
