I was just wondering, what replaced Covid? Wasn’t long ago that was going to kill us all and variants appeared almost weekly. I haven’t heard much about it lately though, mostly I’m hearing about ICE and the Save Act. Both better than a deadly disease so I guess we are making progress.

Covid seems to have gone to the same place as Hunters laptop. It was a big story at one time but mostly forgotten about and unmentioned today. I see a few reminders of Covid with the mask wearing people, those that have remained afraid. Some are easily indoctrinated; I saw that while I was in the service. With others it takes early on, but wears off rather quickly.

At least the big campaign aimed at anti-vaxers has subsided. You still get questioned at the doctor’s office though, about foreign travel and if you have any symptoms of covid. And they always ask if you’re depressed or suicidal. Cracks me up every time. If I wanted to kill myself, I’m not coming to the doctors office.

What is the big threat today? Well, many “news outlets” would have us believe it is Donald Trump and the maga Americans. The conservatives are out to get everyone! Black and brown people are under attack. Women are under attack; they won’t be able to vote! And that isn’t even taking into account the LGBTQ+ folks! They are being marginalized and told the biological truth. There are only two genders!

The other big threat, by deporting all the illegals the crops won’ t get picked, no housing built and “gasp” no landscapers! That’s if the whole tax system doesn’t collapse when those illegals quit paying taxes! I’ve read where they donate millions of dollars to the IRS. They’re undocumented so they can’t be paying taxes. Without at least a TIN number that identifies them, all monies would have to be by anonymous donation.

But I’m just a white guy in America. My only history is one of conquest and enslaving people. As a white guy I owe all the black and brown people a lot of money. I should be apologizing for history! To top it all off, I’m old. A boomer! The past is always threatening the future. The battle rages on.
