All relationships are conditional. Yet, we are told that the very best ones are unconditional. Yet, being unconditional would imply you are inflexible, rigid, set in your ways and even obstinate. It’s all very confusing if you really think about that. We are told Gods’ love is unconditional until we fail to obey his laws, or at the very least repent every time you do that. Sounds like a condition to me. Thing is, I’m good with that. I accept the conditions. Relationships are like that too, you either accept the conditions or you don’t.
Our personalities determine our conditions. That’s what determines whether others like you or not. There are other factors that can influence all of that, the biggest one being wealth. If you are rich enough anyone will be your friend. Well, at least they will pretend to be your friend and be very careful about not letting others know anything different. Fame can hold that same influence, but I think that is diminishing a bit these days. It is becoming more popular to not support the famous people, they aren’t in touch with “real” people. It really all depends upon the conditions.
The people with the fewest friends are the most transparent. That’s my opinion. The reason is fairly obvious if you are paying attention. They have a coarser filter than others. That isn’t to say they don’t have a filter, most everyone does, just that they allow more to pass through that filter than others. They will say what they really think or believe and be unapologetic when doing so. It may be a condition of continued friendship, a lack of an apology can destroy a relationship. Interestingly, so can simply telling the truth.
What conditions must be met for you to remain in a relationship? That certainly has to be established according to the “type” of relationship we are talking about. To put that more concisely, how much will you allow? What is the value of that relationship? It all comes down to worth. Is it worth it? Are you willing to pay the price? That depends upon what? In the end it depends upon you and you alone.
Are you unconditional? I’m not. I wouldn’t want to be unconditional. I will allow some things, I’m that kind of guy. I get it, not everyone can be me, in fact, I’m the only one that can be me. It’s a good thing, for me, it may or may not be for you depending upon the conditions. The thing about conditions are, they change. Even my conditions change over time. The other thing being, you have to allow that change. Revisions and amendments.

Maybe it needs a revision or an amendment.
