The thing I find most frustrating today are those that refuse to accept reality. I’m not saying you shouldn’t attempt to change that reality when you feel you could somehow make it better, just accept the current reality first! This is what it is! I get frustrated when I am expected to just take your word for it, whatever it is. Despite empirical evidence to the contrary I’m being legislated into the realm of fantasy and fiction.
Take the whole Muslim thing. The empirical evidence is plain enough. Muslims have a history of conquering others in the name of their religion. They aren’t alone in that, far from it, but it is written in their book. They are directed by their theology to subdue, conquer, or destroy anyone that doesn’t believe in that. You can pay a tax, or a tribute however, and be allowed to live. That’s simply what the book says. Yet today I’m being told by Muslims they don’t believe in that part, take their word for it. I just read the book, at least a good portion of it, and it is what it is. Thing is, that is what it says. I have to accept that as the reality of their religious doctrine. It even says lying is fine as long as it is to support the propagation of their religion.
I’m not going to get inro any discussion about what religion is the “truth” or better than another. Not going to compare notes on that. Your religious beliefs are just that; belief. How can I know what you truly believe? I can’t, anymore than you can tell what I truly believe. The best I can do is to read whatever it is that is written down as the “truth” of the matter. The Bible, the Quran, and every other religious text is the reference material for that belief. It is what you are expected to believe. Granted it isn’t always what you believe, but it is the “textbook” that contains the rules. The rules you profess to follow. All I can do is take your word for it, it is what it is.
Now there is legislation requiring me to participate in your fantasies. The whole issue of using the correct pronoun. It’s hate speech if I call you something other than what you feel you are? You tell me your pronoun(s) and I’m expected to play along. If you are a guy, you’re a guy, that’s what it is. Doesn’t change anything by changing your clothes, your name, or any surgical procedures you may elect to have done. You can not change that reality. It’s a fiction plain and simple. The DNA will provide the empirical evidence to support that. Even when that DNA contains “errors” it is always either male or female DNA. It is what it is.
You know, I don’t always like what it is. There are times it really makes me mad and upset, but in the end I have to accept that. Only by accepting that can I move forward. My problem, if that is what you want to call it, is accepting fantasies as realities. I wish I could fly but I’m not superman. I wish I was a billionaire but I’m not. I wish I was six foot six and handsome, but I’m not. I am just what I am, that’s the reality of that. Now I could change one thing, become a billionaire, but I still wouldn’t be six foot six and handsome. The best I can do is buy a lottery ticket! It is what it is.

The odds are 350 million to one. Possible, but the reality is, not likely, and nothing much I can do about that. I just have to accept that. Odds are not in my favor.
